May the first came faster than Helen expected, she was now seven months pregnant. Papa had searched around for decent furniture; he had found some furniture on his routine routes for his garbage company. Papa truly didn’t want his princess to live, but he knew she had to fly on her own. Clarence and Johnny were Helen’s designated movers, and they were excited to help Helen move. The boys were focused on getting their own rooms for a change. Her mother planned a house warming party, and Helen’s two aunts were planning to attend the future gathering.
The apartment contained a two bedroom, one bathroom, a living room, and a petite kitchen. The apartment was loved by her, and she embraced her independence. The housing warming gifts were quickly put in place. A couch with two chairs along with a couple of end tables occupied the living room. Helen planned to go grocery shopping to put some food in her bare refrigerator.
Work was getting extremely hard for Helen being almost nine months pregnant; it was time for her to take some time off. Helen picked up the phone and phoned Mrs. Johnston; it was summer time and Mrs. Johnston was home more often. Helen suspected that Mrs. Johnston herself would cook and clean while she was gone. “Hello, Mrs. Johnston this is Helen I was wondering if I could get my time off now? “ Helen asked nervously. “Well it is summer and the kids are home and there is more to be done. I’ll have to do some hiring to pick up your slack,” Mrs. Johnston was upset with the timing of the request. The conversation ended with Helen unsure if she had a job to go back to after she delivered her baby.
“Push, push, push,” the doctor told Helen who was in pain from already delivering one baby. Now she was getting a surprise; she wasn’t so thrilled about having twins that made expenses double. After the pain Helen had two twin boys, one weighing six pounds ten ounces and the other weighed seven pounds two ounces. She wondered how all that fit inside her. She named the boys Quante and Donte Jones, and both birth certificates listed father as unknown. Even though having twins put Helen’s finances in a bind she still embraced her two precious boys with love.
