Gerron DelValle

Gerron DelValle was born and raised in Newport News, VA. He writes from experiences and has a love for reading. He got the urge to be a writer at 13 when he was in a "Scared Straight" program. That program made a way for him to meet author Nathan McCall at a book signing in Hampton. He began writing poetry when he was 14 years old, and Twin Difference at the age of 20.

Twin Differences a fictional novel based on true events was inspired by Donald Goines' novels. The book went on to sell over 5,000 copies; he released Tough Love eight months after Twin Difference and it sold over 5,000 as well. He sold them as a set along with his poetry book, Twin Difference Poems. Gerron married aspiring actress, Kenya, in 2007 after relocating to Atlanta from Newport News.

For a year before their wedding, Gerron and Kenya worked on "You Are Not the Father!" a movie script that Gerron wrote. In 2008, Gerron felt the pinch of the economy as he continue to tour the East Coast with his book, but now it was for minimal sales. Plans were put on hold for the film until Gerron acted in a local stage-play and became insanely driven to get this film done. Kenya and Gerron held auditions with their four month old son, Geremiah.

The movie premiered to 300 people in Atlanta. Then to 200 people in Hampton and 300 people in Richmond it premiered with a DVD release. The movie starred Kenya DelValle, Gerron DelValle, Danielle McGowan, and Jason Carey. Gerron wanted the next movie to be bigger and better. He released his novel and film both entitled, Laying My Past to Rest. The film starred Troy "TroyMaN" Curry from Netflix: Rhythm and Flow Show.

Laying My Past to Rest has screened in churches, schools, and youth events. It won the Kingdomwood Viewer Choice Award in Atlanta. Gerron DelValle does motivational speaking engagements highlighting the book and film utilizing the material to instruct young adults. Gerron DelValle continued his education obtaining a Master's degree in Instructional Design and Diversity Education. He now currently works as an online curriculum developer and coaching other writers to self-publish their books.

Kenya and Gerron still act and have filmed Tough Love in 2020 after receiving rave reviews for the stageplay. Gerron also plans to release two books in 2022 and finish editing Tough Love to add to his catalog of three movies, three novels and three poetry books. Gerron and Kenya now reside in Virginia with their five beautiful children. His oldest son, Geremiah is a new novelist penning his first book, Lands of Scientia.
