About Us

Gerron DelValle was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia. At the age of 16, he moved out of his mother’s house to live on his own causing him to work and attend school full-time. Because of his love for reading and writing poetry, Gerron’s reading and retention capabilities were much more advanced than many of the students in his class. A poet and writer since he was fourteen, Gerron began his own publishing company printing his poetry booklets from his home computer at the age of 23.  He distributed his poetry booklets face-to-face at open-mic venues, street corners, barber shops, beauty salons, etc., approaching people with a simple hello and leaving with no rebuttal. Truly he believed that everything that was supposed to happen was going to happen.

Nurturing his passion to write stories people can relate to and positively apply to their lives, Gerron self-published his first novel “Twin Difference.” After two days of selling his book, he had to reorder more copies to fulfill an enormous demand. In three months, 1,200 books were sold through face-to-face distribution. In February 2006, Hongry Wolves Publishing ordered 5,300 copies of Gerron’s second novel, “Tough Love.” By popular demand, in May 2006, another order was placed for 2,500 copies of “Twin Difference,” and 1,000 copies of “Twin Difference Poems.” In September 2009 Gerron ordered 5,100 copies of his teen novel, “Laying My Past to Rest.” He is currently distributing his new book to schools.

Even though Gerron has been successful in his endeavors thus far, he is always looking to improve and perfect his craft. As Hongry Wolves Publishing matures as a company, expectations are continually rising. In addition to poems and novels, Gerron has written multiple movie scripts, one of which he has successfully turned into a film. Gerron released his first independent film, “You Are Not the Father!” on DVD in 2009. His current film project is “Laying My Past to Rest,” a movie based on his recently released third novel. It will premiere at the DeKalb Performing Arts Center on May 27, 2010. Gerron has written a total of five poetry booklets and three novels.

Gerron DelValle currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife Kenya, his sons Geremiah and Gervel. Self-publishing three novels and writing/directing/producing two films, DelValle is an advocate for literary arts and wants to see all people, young and old, reading.
